The CA / B Forum, the regulator of the SSL industry, has passed adopted Ballot SC7, dedicated to updating IP validation methods. Previously, Ballot 169 had been adopted. This included removal of method 11 (“Any other method”) from section 3.2.2.4. Instead of this method, explicit validation methods were indicated.

The CA / B Forum, the regulatory authority of the SSL certificate industry, adopted Ballot SC15 related to the deletion of validation method 3.2.2.4.9 by a majority vote.

Chrome 72 has been released, the main changes of which are directed to the basic Web API and browser protocols.

From version 61, a warning has appeared in the Firefox browser notifying the user if a program is trying to perform a MitM attack (Man-in-the-Middle). In the upcoming version of Firefox 65, this warning will be supplemented with information indicating that the antivirus program may be causing the error.

Sectigo CA has announced that it will stop using Comodo CA roots. The transition to the new USERTrust CA roots should occur on 14th January 2019. This will allow Sectigo to remove any existing references to the Comodo brand – in particular, from the intermediate and root CAs.
